Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
Ingredients
Ice Cream Base:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Optional Add-ins:
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
Instructions:
1. Mix the base:
- In a bowl or saucepan, whisk together sugar, milk, cream, and salt until sugar is mostly dissolved.
2. Add flavoring:
- Stir in peppermint extract and vanilla extract. (Add peppermint slowly — it’s strong.)
3. Chill:
- Refrigerate the mixture for 2–4 hours until fully chilled.
4. Churn:
- Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Add chocolate chips:
- In the last few minutes of churning, add chocolate chips so they mix in evenly.
6. Freeze:
- Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
7. Serve:
- Scoop and enjoy — tastes even better with extra chocolate on top.
